How to Set Up a Wireless Modem on an iPad

The Apple iPad's uses are many but its capabilities are greater when connected to the Internet. Some iPads have 3G and 4G mobile connections, but all iPads have the capability to connect wirelessly to a home, public or small business network. By default, a new iPad's wireless settings are turned on before it is shipped from the factory, but this may not always be the case depending on how you purchased your device. Setting up your wireless small business connection on the iPad is a simple process that you usually have to do only once.

  1. 1.

Tap "Settings" from the iPad's main menu.

  2. 2.

Tap "Wi-Fi" from the menu options. If Wi-Fi is turned off, turn it on by tapping the "On/Off" slider.

  3. 3.

Tap the Wi-Fi network you want to join from the populated list. Enter your network password if you are attempting to connect to a secure network. You only have to do this once in normal circumstances. The Wi-Fi signal strength indicator next to the listed network and at the top of your iPad screen indicate the Wi-Fi is turned on.
