How to Activate Microsoft Office XP

The Microsoft Office suite provides productivity tools to assist in presentation, document creation and data management. The suite of Office products requires activation to unlock all the functions and features of each product. Each version of the software includes a unique product key that has a limited number of activations to restrict software piracy.

    Run a program included in the Microsoft Office suite such as Word, Excel or PowerPoint.

    Click "Help" and click "Activate Product" if the activation window doesn't immediately appear.

    Click "Activate By Using the Internet." Click the "Country/Region" drop-down and select your region in the drop-down menu. Click "OK" to complete the activation.
